The Lively is a new hotel brand operated by Global Agents. With the aim of creating a new generation of hotel that is neither full-service nor accommodation-only, The Lively features extensive common areas, offering guests the freedom to tailor stays to suit their lifestyles.
Embracing the key concepts of ‘Lightness (elegance, openness), Gadget (devices, equipment), and Hygge (coziness, comfort)’, we sought to create a design that resonates with the millennial generation.
The first floor features a dining café that opens out onto the streetscape, bustling with hotel guests and other patrons; the front desk is located on the second floor, along with a multipurpose space and lounge that can be used freely by guests. We created a sense of three-dimensional integration by connecting adjacent floors with open ceilings. The fourteenth floor features a bar open to all customers, offering a place to enjoy drinks on the adjoining rooftop terrace.
Situated one street back from the main roads, the facade presents a bold color composition. Together with the open ceiling linking the first and second floors with a glass structure, it provides greater visibility into the lively interior.
To build excitement leading up to the front desk on the second floor, we arranged eye-catching digital art on the approach walls and elevator hall; on the second floor, we used half-mirrors and illuminated grids to represent a bridge to be crossed between the elevator hall and the front desk.
In the guest rooms, the use of shower cubicles integrates the bathroom into the living space, giving rooms an expansive feel upon entry despite the compact size. A key feature of each room is the ‘gadget frame’, a fixture that houses various pieces of equipment including hangers, a mirror, mugs and a TV.
With ample and diverse common areas as well as compact, convenient rooms, The Lively embodies its concept – a universe ‘free and full of amazing discoveries’.
